This year we celebrate with the Women of the Republic of SURINAME,a Sovereign State on the northeastern coast of South America. In this service, the women of Suriname urge us to cherish God’s exquisite gift of Creation and to commit ourselves to caring for God’s world responsibly so that we may pass it on,unspoiled,to future generations. The service we are participating encircles the globe, starting as the sun rises over Samoa, continuing as it makes its way around the earth, and ending some 36 hours later as the sun sets over American Samoa.

Local News:

Our latest gathering was on Tuesday 9th January at the home of Rupert and Cathy Lister and although we were low in numbers, due to bad weather,we had a lovely afternoon catching up on our Christmas and New Year activities and remembering our happy times with family and friends. We were reminded of our participation in future Ecumenical Services, including the Women’s World Day of Prayer mentioned above as well as our commitment to help with the distribution of Village Easter Cards. Any help with distributing the Cards will be appreciated. (contact Mike on 822348). We would like to express our sincere thanks to Cathy and Rupert for their kind hospitality. Our next gathering will be after Easter and will be advised later.
