Other Local Masses: 

For those unable to attend Sunday Mass at St. Austin’s in Stafford there are Masses at SS Peter &Paul,Salter Street,Newport on Saturday at 6.30pm or Sunday at 9.15am. At Eccleshall in Sacred Heart Church,Stone Rd,on Sundays at 9.15 am. And at Penkridge on Sundays in the Anglican Church of St. Michael and All Saints at 9.00am. You can go to for other services in the Deanery.

Christian Food Help: 

During the month of January 2018 there were 1130 meals supplied from the Stafford Food Bank compared with 1211 in the same period last year. Many thanks for your continued support for this very worthy charity. 

The Senior Group 

Saint Austin’s Senior Group welcomes parishioners to join them in the Parish Room (adjacent to the church car park) for a social afternoon at 2.00pm on the first Wednesday each month. St. Austin’s News: 

On Fridays during Lent at 7.00pm the Lenten Devotion of the Stations of the Cross will be held in St. Austin’s Church,Stafford. All are welcome. 

Also,you are invited to take part in Lenten Soup Lunches in the Parish Hall following the Midday Mass on the Fridays of Lent. Proceeds will go to support the education and welfare work of Loreto Sealdah in Calcutta. 

Please remember in your prayers the families and children now preparing to celebrate the Sacraments of First Reconciliation; 

First Holy Communion and Confirmation later this year.

Services at St. Austin’s,Stafford:Palm Sunday: 

Blessing and distribution of Palms at Vigil and Sunday Masses. 

Holy Thursday: 

8.00pm. Mass of the Lord’s Supper,followed by Watching until Midnight. 

Good Friday: 

3.00pm. Liturgy of the Passion. 7.30pm. Stations of the Cross. 

Holy Saturday: 

9.00pm. Easter Vigil and Mass of the Resurrection Easter Sunday:Masses at 10.30 am. and 6.00pm. 

Ecumenical Services: 

On Friday 2nd March the Women’s World Day of Prayer Service,which will be led by the Roman Catholic Community and supported by the Anglican and Methodist members,will take place at St Lawrence Church at 2.00pm. Everyone is welcome to attend (including males!) so please come if you can. Refreshments will be made available afterwards. 

On Maundy Thursday 

(29th March) the Anglican Community is holding an AGAPE SUPPER in St. Lawrence Church at 7.00pm. This of course,is an opportunity to share a meal with fellow Christians in commemoration of the celebration of “The Last Supper” before Christ’s death on the cross. 

Members of the Catholic community are invited,so if you wish to attend please contact me on 822348 as catering arrangements need to be made. 

On Good Friday (30th March)

There will be a Walk of Witness starting from St. Lawrence church at 2.00pm. All are welcome to attend. Also. at 7.30pm on Good Friday there will be an evening service at St. Lawrence church featuring Stainer’s Crucifixion,with augmented Choir.

We shall again be helping with the distribution of Easter Cards around the Village so if anyone wishes to help with this it would be appreciated if you could contact me on 822348 so that an area can be allocated to you.
