The Lions are now in the middle of working on our forthcoming Spring Programme. Obviously our ever popular Afternoon Tea dances will continue throughout the Spring and Summer up to July at a bargain £4-00 per head to the music of Dave &Doreen. We have put themes on them for decor so if dancers feel like dressing up and adding to the occasion then that would be great. They are all held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month in the Gnosall Memorial Hall from 2-00pm until 4-00pm and each month our numbersincrease with dancers coming fromall over the county attracted by thecomradery, the atmosphere and anamazing dance floor.

Themes are as follows:March – St Patricks Day April Easter Bonnets May May Day

Coming up we also have the Annual Military Wives Choir Concert, this year on the 21st April in the Memorial Hall followed by our Annual Golf Day. More details on the Golf Day will appear in a future update nearer the time. Needless to say the proceeds of all of our events go to supporting local good causes.

Given that Gnosall Lions and Newport Lions joined forces in June to become one it is great to report that we have gone on from strength to strength increasing in numbers, with 1 new member in November and hopefully another 3 in the very near future. We like to think that the attraction is that not only are we raising money for local good causes, and by keeping people in our locality aware of what we have done or are doing but that we also enjoy ourselves socially. Every month we try and hold a social event where we go out as a group to enjoy ourselves and since Christmas we have been to a Panto,to a Folk acoustic Evening amongst other things. These are events suggested by members,so that hopefully through the year everyone is happy socially,a most important thing to Lions,Team work.

Future Club meetings are at Gnosall Fire Station Community Room on Mon 5th March and on April 2nd both commencing at 7-30pm. Why not come along,we’d love to see you. Alternatively for more information then why not give one of our Membership Officers a ring,Pat Hunt on (01785) 780032 or John Fullwood on (01952) 273919.
